Attendance

Our registers close at 8:45am. All late arrivals will need to report to the school office. If your child arrives between 8:45am to 9:30am, a reason will need to be provided and they will be marked as “late” on the register.

Any child that arrives after 9:30am will be marked as an “unauthorised late”.

Attendance is absolutely crucial to your child’s success at school. There are many studies which show a direct link between a child’s attendance and their performance at school.

Our target is 97%. In order to achieve this we need the support of parents to encourage their students to attend school every day. Every day of school missed is five hours of learning missed. If your child misses one day of school per week they will miss 190 hours of learning over the course of the year.

In situations where parents fail to ensure regular school attendance or fails to ensure their child arrives on time, the Access and Attendance Team will consider issuing a Fixed Penalty Notice – £80 payable within 21 days, rising to £160payable within 22-28 days. Non-payment will result in prosecution.
